Keep It Simple.
A common sense approach built on years of understanding.
The golf swing is a complicated process. There are many ways it can go wrong, resulting in skulls, shanks, hooks or slices.
Yet, focusing on too many “fixes” at once can be overwhelming. The key? Simplicity.
Through years of studying the swing, Tammy and her father, Master PGA Teaching Professional Carl Lohren, have distilled it down to a few key thoughts. By focusing on these simpler, more actionable ideas, Tammy has helped thousands of golfers. The results? A better “feel” for the swing, more “pured” shots and lower scores on the golf course.
Tammy takes the swing seriously, but believes one of the most important ways to get better is having the right mental attitude. Through drills that marry fun with simplicity, she works hard to keep golf enjoyable even when the shanks are the worst.
Below are some of the major areas Tammy focuses on. If you’re ready to improve your swing and golf game while actually enjoying yourself, learn more about lessons here.
The Golf Swing
Starting with a swing analysis, Tammy breaks down everything you’re doing right and why that dreaded “miss” may be happening. Tammy also reviews your pre-shot routine, or set-up. After understanding what needs work, Tammy crafts an educated plan for improvement.
Your Grip
You can’t shoot in the 70s with a poor grip. Many golf instructors, including Tammy, call the grip the foundation of the swing. Tammy walks every student through the proper way to hold a club if necessary, making subtle tweaks to account for your unique swing.
Your Short Game
“Drive for show, putt for dough.” Jon Sherman may disagree with the famous quote, but either way, it’s imperative to get the ball in the hole. Tammy will walk you through a range of putting drills both at home and for the practice green. She will also work with you on various chip shots, from pitches to a bump and run.
The Mental Approach
Whether you play golf competitively or for fun, the mental approach matters. Tammy focuses on keeping golf enjoyable to help reduce frustration, tightness, and other hindrances that may be holding you back on the course.
“Tammy has worked with me for years. Her attitude and knowledge not only help my swing, but keep me loving the game of golf.”
